Dental Implants in Raleigh & Garner

A dental implant replaces the whole tooth, root included. We place a titanium post in the jawbone, let it fuse over several months, then attach a custom crown shaded to match the teeth around it. Unlike a bridge, an implant does not lean on neighbouring teeth for support, and because the post keeps the jaw under load it helps slow the bone loss that follows a missing tooth. Most patients are candidates; where bone volume is thin, a graft may come first. Dr. Mathur's training includes an AEGD residency at East Carolina University with a focus on implantology, so planning and restoration happen in one office.

Porcelain Veneers

Veneers are thin porcelain shells bonded to the front of your teeth. They are the usual answer when the teeth are sound but the look is not: permanent staining that whitening will not lift, chips, uneven edges, small gaps, or teeth sitting slightly out of line. We remove a small amount of enamel, take an impression, and fit the finished veneers at a second visit. Because each veneer is custom made, shape and colour are chosen with you rather than for you. Veneers are a commitment, though: the enamel reduction is permanent, so we will talk through whether bonding or whitening gets you there first.

Invisalign Clear Aligners

Invisalign straightens teeth with a series of clear, removable trays instead of brackets and wires. Each tray moves the teeth slightly, and you change to the next roughly every one to two weeks. Treatment commonly runs six to eighteen months depending on how much movement is needed. The trays come out for meals and brushing, which makes hygiene considerably easier than with fixed braces, and they are hard to notice in conversation, which is why most of our adult orthodontic patients choose them. We scan digitally at the first visit, so you can see the projected result before committing to treatment.

Dental Bridges

A bridge fills the gap left by one or more missing teeth, using the teeth on either side as anchors. Those neighbouring teeth are prepared and crowned, and the replacement tooth sits between them as a single fixed unit. Nothing comes in and out: a bridge is cemented in place and cleaned much like natural teeth, with a floss threader used under the span. A bridge is often the right call when the adjacent teeth already need crowns, or when an implant is not suitable. We will compare both options honestly, with costs, before you decide.

Professional Teeth Whitening

In-office whitening lifts staining from coffee, tea, red wine and tobacco in a single appointment, using a stronger gel than anything sold over the counter and with your gums protected throughout. We also make custom take-home trays for patients who would rather whiten gradually. Whitening works on natural enamel; it will not change the shade of crowns, veneers or existing fillings, so if you have restorations in the smile line we plan the order of treatment around them. Some sensitivity afterwards is common. It is usually mild and settles within a day or two.

Root Canal Treatment

When decay or a crack reaches the nerve inside a tooth, root canal treatment removes the infected tissue, disinfects the canals and seals them, keeping the tooth in place rather than taking it out. The reputation is worse than the reality: the procedure is done under local anaesthetic and most patients say it feels much like having a filling. What hurts is the infection beforehand, and that usually settles quickly once treated. A back tooth generally needs a crown afterwards to protect it from fracture. If you are in pain now, call us rather than waiting for a routine slot.

Tooth Extractions

Sometimes a tooth cannot be saved: a fracture below the gum line, advanced decay, severe gum disease, or a wisdom tooth with no room to come through. We take a digital X-ray, numb the area thoroughly, remove the tooth as gently as the situation allows, and talk you through aftercare for the first twenty-four hours. Where the tooth shows when you smile, we discuss replacement options, whether implant, bridge or partial denture, before the extraction rather than after, so there is no gap in the plan or in your smile.

What Each Procedure Costs

Cost depends on the tooth, the material and your coverage, so we quote in writing after an examination rather than over the phone. We work with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Delta Dental, Humana, MetLife, Guardian and NCDHHS, and we will file the claim and check your remaining annual maximum before you commit to anything. If you do not have insurance, our in-house annual membership plan covers preventive visits and includes a discount on treatment, and CareCredit is available for larger cases. Ask at reception. We would rather have the money conversation early than surprise you at the end.
